Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are you socialist or capitalist?

We reject both state socialism and unfettered free-market capitalism. Instead, we uphold Distributism: an alternative economic vision rooted in justice, community, and the dignity of work — a model that cannot be confined to the conventional left–right spectrum.

  • What sets you apart from other Christian groups?

What sets us apart is our focus on the complete ideology of Christian Democracy. While many groups emphasise social and moral issues, we are committed to applying Christian principles across the whole spectrum of policy — from economics and education to the environment and national life. We seek not just to defend values, but to build a comprehensive vision for the common good.

  • Do you support theocracy?

No. We do not support theocracy. We affirm the principles of Christian Democracy, which means applying enduring Christian values within a modern, democratic framework. Our vision is not about rule by clergy, but about ensuring that timeless moral truths inform and guide public life in a free society.

  • Are you a political party?

No. Christian Democracy UK is a cross-party think tank and pressure group. We do not stand candidates in elections but seek to influence policy and debate across the political spectrum.

  • Do you represent one denomination or all Christians?

We are not tied to any single denomination. Our work is rooted in the broad Christian tradition, and we welcome members from across the different churches who share our principles.

  • How can I get involved in Christian Democracy UK?

You can get involved by filling out the form on this website. We’ll then be in touch about membership, events, and ways you can contribute.
